Purpose of Role

Based in Kuala Lumpur, the A2R Team Supervisor is responsible for leading the team to process transactions related to: Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Inventory accounting and closing & reporting of financial books for Malaysia and Singapore. This role will support the A2R Team Manager in ensuring the enforcement of accounting standards and reliability of the data collected from management, controllers, tax department and other E2E processes. Apart from that, this role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement related to A2R activities.

Key Responsibilities:

SBS Transition

  • Active participation in the transition of Country A2R processes into SBS, including workshadowing, Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) documentation preparations and issue resolution
  • Support team members throughout on-boarding, knowledge transfer and training in A2R to-be processes and technology/tools and active contribution to ensure operational readiness by Go-Live date
  • Participate in the Service Level Agreement discussion between SBS and Country Finance

People management and development

  • Coach and motivate direct reports for performance
  • Conduct regular reviews with team members to ensure timely and quality services against agreed SLAs
  • Support A2R Team Manager in managing and prioritising team workload
  • Support A2R Team Manager in identifying training and development needs of team members

Compliance

  • Ensure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities, and partner with A2R Team Manager and Country Finance to review, identify and address any gaps
  • Support external and internal audits by working closely with A2R Team Manager and Country Finance
  • Ensure adequate follow up on issues identified during external and internal audit
  • Identify and mitigate issues on segregation of duties within team

Operations

  • Deliver quality reporting of legal statutory accounts and consolidation packages within the local regulatory and Group calendar timeframes
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company procedures to ensure integrity of financial information
  • Collaborate with other End to End teams (P2P and Ci2C), tax & treasury departments and Country Finance to manage and address potential closing risks
  • Respond to and resolve enquiries from Country Finance/Internal and External customers
  • Support A2R Team Manager in CFO closing meetings by providing detailed analysis and/or explanation of material changes
  • Contribute to Account Committee and Customer Board preparation and reviews
  • Ensure SOP documentations are updated on timely basis to reflect latest process/tool/policy changes

Continuous improvement

  • Partner with A2R Team Manager in monitoring performance on a continuous basis against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions, where necessary
  • Motivate and support team members to identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutions
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders

Key Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant working experience in the Finance/Accounting sector
  • Exposure to multinational or regional corporate business environments, or similar
  • Working experience with SAP, specifically Fi/Co
  • Proficient in the use of applications in the MS-Office suite, including MS-Excel
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Working experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate position
  • Working experience in Accounts to Report
  • Working experience in a Finance shared services environment, either captive (in-house) or in a BPO setting

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or equivalent
  • Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACCA/ CPA is strongly preferred
